Although we don't see her til much later, a clear sketch of Dawn is shown on the back of her book early on in the comic (during its initial black and white arc)[1].
Jackie has previously mentioned that some of his characters have 'ear numbers' (as discussed on a podcast with Moonhawk Studios Presents[2]. While the full list (and specifically Jackie's reasons for them) has never been revealed, Dawn's appears to be 5.
Dawn writes under a 'nom-de-plume' or pen name[3].
Dawn's book is self-published (which causes John to consider it 'not real')[4].
